
Joy of Design: Improving Branding & Product Organization on Shopify
Christa, the creative force behind Joy of Design, approached us as she was preparing for a new season of business. Known for her success in local, in-person sales, Christa was eager to expand her online presence and enhance the user experience on her website, particularly the homepage.
The main challenge was strategically categorizing and displaying Christa’s products on the homepage to attract a broader online audience. The goal was to feature her products, highlight custom orders, and showcase best-selling items, all on a single, cohesive page.
Through strategic consulting sessions, we worked closely with Christa to determine the best way to categorize and present her products. Together, we decided to feature her made-to-order products and custom orders prominently while also including a section for best-selling products. Additionally, we collaborated on a colour palette and font selection that would resonate with her audience and convey a feeling of home, warmth, and comfort.
Designing the Website
As part of the homepage redesign, we leveraged several key features of Shopify to create an engaging and functional online store:
- Homepage Layout: We designed a clean and intuitive homepage layout that effectively showcased Christa’s made-to-order products, custom orders, and best-sellers, ensuring visitors could easily find what they were looking for.

- Colour Palette and Fonts: We carefully selected colours and fonts that evoke a sense of home, warmth, and comfort. This branding strategy was critical in communicating the unique value of Christa’s handcrafted products, which are made with care and attention to detail, unlike mass-produced items from large retailers.
