Elegant, Editorial & Easy to Navigate

A Wedding Photography Website That Puts the Work First

In the wedding photography world, it’s all about the images. For Ricky Sandos Photography, our priority was to create a site that provided space for the photos while still offering a clear and helpful experience for couples exploring their options.

We achieved this by incorporating numerous full-width galleries and maintaining concise text-only sections. We also integrated smaller-sized photos throughout to give the feeling of ‘lots of photos everywhere’. We worked with Ricky to design a custom WordPress website that combines his editorial, upscale romantic style with practical functionality for potential clients. The website allows them to see his photos, feel what it’s like to work with him, and easily contact him to shoot their special day.

Our goals were to:

  • Create a visual-first site that showcases Ricky’s photography
  • Make it simple for visitors to understand his services and pricing
  • Build a site on WordPress that could grow with his business, with a backend that his team could confidently manage

Design That Reflects the Brand

We developed a custom logo mark and colour palette for Ricky—one that captures his cool, calm, and grounded personality, as well as the soft romanticism of his work. This visual identity guided our font selection, spacing, and overall aesthetic direction throughout the website.

Photography is the focus, so the typography supports, rather than distracts. Headings are strong and clear, designed to land a message quickly as users scroll.

The layout favours long-form scrolling, which is essential for mobile users and ideal for how couples browse today. We ensured that key content, such as location, services, and investment details, was never buried behind clicks.

From the homepage to the packages page, we were intentional about what information to highlight:

  • Packages and pricing are listed, so couples know what to expect
  • Gallery highlights and featured weddings are shown throughout, reinforcing the variety and quality of Ricky’s work
  • A clean, accessible navigation menu makes it easy for couples to find exactly what they’re looking for—fast

This website is designed to convert browsers into inquiries, with no guesswork involved.

Coaching for Flexibility & Growth

Photographers rarely want to lock in galleries forever, and for Ricky, with years of shoots and new work coming in constantly, flexibility was essential.

We built the site in WordPress and created an interactive dashboard training session with Ricky and his team. We showed them how to:

  • Add and swap out images
  • Create and manage galleries
  • Track site analytics and engagement
  • Make simple text and layout edits as needed

We equipped Ricky with a site that’s beautiful, functional, and empowering for his team.

Outcome

The final product is a refined, editorial website that does exactly what a great wedding photography website should:

  • Showcases Ricky’s signature style
  • Provides clarity for potential couples
  • Feels as good to use as it looks

Whether visitors are discovering him for the first time or are already halfway to taking action, the site reflects his brand, builds trust, and invites action.
